TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Gabriel has been studying the bass in its many iterations for more than a decade. He believes the bass is more than an instrument, but one of the most vital roles in any ensemble setting – providing a secure rhythmic foundation as well as leading the direction in harmony. Knowing this, Gabriel’s teaching philosophy is built on preparing students for real life experience through technique studies, repertoire, transcription, and improvisation. Gabriel also challenges students to perform at their best, fortifying their mentality to withstand the innate pressures of studying any art form.
